Track and Field
Jonathan Grant has proudced many track stars. Richard Smith, despite the odds, came out winner of the 800 meters, making
hisotry for the school at the Boys'Championship in 1992. Tayna Lawrence, a past student, dazzled the croud at the 2000
Olympics by placing third in the 100 metre, defeating our own Merlene Ottey and the many other track stars around the world.
Later she was the recipient of a gold medal at the Olympics in Seoul.
Cricket
The school has stamped its mark in the pages of the Local School Boy Cricket by becoming the 1997 all island under sixteen
Colts Champion. They defeated schools like Holmwood, Calabar, Kingston College, and Tivoli. For any cricket team, scoring a
century symbolises the pinnacle of success. However, when Andre O'sullivan made 200 runs and Tambar Lambert a century
and Howard Walters took 6 wickets for 21 runs, this was the ultimate. Tamar Lambert was chosen to represent Jamaica in the West
Indies Under-15 team.
Football
Jonathan Grant was the first school in the parish of St, Catherine to win a major Inter-Secondary School Association competition-
The Walker Cup. The school has claimed its place among the top schools in sports in Jamaica, with a representative Wollery
Wolve on the Jamaica Reggae Boyz squad.
Basketball & Netball
These are competitive sporst to which Jonathan Grant is striving to stamp its mark.
