Science /Agricultural Department
The Science-Agricultural Department plays a pivotal role in the
academic and social development of students at Jonathan Grant High School.
The
department caters to students at varying levels of competence by
exposing them to subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics,
Integrated Science, and Agricultural Science.
In addition, the department conducts a Science club, which strives to
foster social interaction among students, provide
leadership potential and enhance academic performance in the areas of
Science.
In an attempt to provide a more conducive learning environment,
there has been major renovations of the three science
laboratories at the school. A new classroom was built for the
agricultural department. The department also recieved new
furniture, materials and equipment, including a new refrigerator.
Despite the challenges during the previous academic year, the
department got over fifty percent (50%) passes in the
subjects of Biology, Integrated Science, and Agricultural Sience at the
CXC level in the 2004-2005 academic year.
